Put multiple PDF pages on one sheet

Create compact handouts or review copies from one static PDF. Place two pages side by side or four in a grid, choose the reading order and save a new PDF for printing.

Your PDF stays on this device. Preview and export run in your browser without uploading or logging document contents.

How it works

  1. Choose one static PDF without forms, links or annotations.
  2. Choose 2 or 4 pages per sheet, A4 or Letter and the paper orientation.
  3. Set the margins, space between pages and left-to-right or right-to-left order.
  4. Check the first-sheet preview, create the PDF, then download or share it.

How 2-up and 4-up work

2-up places two source pages side by side. 4-up uses two rows and two columns, filling the top row first. With five source pages and 4-up, the result has two PDF pages: four source pages on the first and one on the second. The other three cells stay blank. No source pages are dropped or repeated.

Margins, spacing and reading order

A4 measures 210 × 297 mm; Letter measures 215.9 × 279.4 mm. A 10 mm margin and a 5 mm gap reserve space around the grid and between its cells. Each page scales proportionally to its cell, including mixed sizes and supported rotation. Existing white space inside a source page remains. Right-to-left reverses columns within each row; it does not reverse the source-page sequence.

Printing the result

The downloaded file already contains the multiple-page layout. In your printer dialog, use one PDF page per sheet rather than applying 2-up or 4-up again. Check paper size, scale and a test print. Output PDF pages are not physical sheet counts when printing double-sided. This is a sequential handout layout, not booklet imposition.

Supported documents and limits

Text and vector graphics remain PDF content rather than becoming page images. This tool uses the same static-document restrictions as page resizing: forms, links, annotations, signatures, bookmarks, tagged structure, layers, page transparency groups, document color profiles, attachments and actions are blocked because they cannot be preserved. Source metadata is not copied. Inputs are limited to 80 MB and 200 pages on phones or low-memory devices, or 500 pages on larger devices.

Frequently asked questions

Will the text remain selectable?

Existing selectable text is embedded as PDF content. Scanned pages remain images; this tool does not add OCR. Smaller text may be harder to read, especially with 4-up.

Can I use right-to-left page order?

Yes. Choose Right to left. Page 1 occupies the top-right cell and the next page the cell to its left, independently of the interface language.

What happens to an incomplete last sheet?

Unused cells stay blank. For example, three source pages with 2-up produce two PDF pages, with one empty cell on the last page.

Will this make a booklet?

No. A booklet requires a different page sequence for folding and binding. This tool keeps source pages in their logical sequence.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Preview and export run on your device in a browser worker. The source PDF is not sent to a server.
