Convert JPG and PNG images to WebP
WebP images load faster on websites and in apps. Convert JPG and PNG files to WebP in bulk, with transparency kept, on your own device. Nothing is uploaded.
Your images are processed on this device and never uploaded. We don't see, store or log your files.
How it works
- Tap Choose files and pick JPG or PNG images, or drop them onto the page.
- Choose a quality: High, Balanced or Small.
- Tap Convert to WebP and check the size before and after.
- Download each WebP, all of them as a ZIP, or tap Share.
Why convert to WebP here
Your images are encoded by your own browser and never sent to a server, which matters for unpublished product photos and client work. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on the number of batches.
How much smaller
Google's comparison found WebP files 25–34% smaller than JPEGs of the same visual quality. PNG photos and graphics with transparency usually shrink much more, because WebP can compress them with loss while keeping the transparent areas. The result shows the total size before and after, so you see the saving on your own images.
Which quality to choose
High (90) keeps the most detail, for portfolios and product photos. Balanced (80) is the usual choice for websites. Small (65) suits thumbnails, backgrounds and images seen mostly on phones, where the difference is hard to spot.
Where WebP works
Every current browser shows WebP: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Samsung Internet and Safari 14 or later (iOS 14, macOS Big Sur). Some older desktop programs and upload forms still refuse it, so keep your originals.
Frequently asked questions
Is WebP always smaller than my JPG?
Usually, but not always: a JPG that was already heavily compressed can grow at High quality. The result shows both sizes; keep the original if the WebP is larger.
Is transparency kept from PNG?
Yes. Transparent areas of a PNG stay transparent in the WebP.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes: up to 20 at a time on a phone, 50 on a tablet and 100 on a computer. Several results are offered as one ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device.
