Convert a time between time zones

Pick two places, a date and a time to see what time it is in the other place, and how many hours apart they are on that day. Daylight saving is applied automatically.

Conversions run on this device. We don't see, store or log the times you enter.

How it works

  1. Choose the place the time is in, and the place you want to convert to.
  2. Pick the date and the time.
  3. Read the converted date and time and the difference, or tap Swap to go the other way.

Why the date matters

Many countries change their clocks for daylight saving, but not on the same days, so the difference between two places changes during the year. New York is 10 h 30 min behind India from November to March, but 9 h 30 min behind from March to November. 9:00 in New York is 19:30 in India on 15 January 2026, but 18:30 on 15 July.

Zones that aren't whole hours

Some zones are offset by half or three-quarter hours: India is UTC+5:30, Iran UTC+3:30 and Nepal UTC+5:45. The Gulf states (UTC+3 in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar; UTC+4 in the UAE and Oman), Pakistan (UTC+5), Bangladesh (UTC+6) and Malaysia and Singapore (UTC+8) don't use daylight saving.

Planning a meeting

Convert the meeting time from the organiser's zone and send both times in the invitation. If a time falls in the hour skipped when clocks go forward (for example 02:30 on the spring-forward night), it is moved to just after the change; a time that happens twice when clocks go back uses the first one.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead is India of the US East Coast?

10 hours 30 minutes in northern winter and 9 hours 30 minutes while the US is on daylight time. India doesn't change its clocks.

Where does the time zone data come from?

From your browser's built-in time zone database (the IANA tz database), which updates with the browser, so changes to daylight-saving rules are included.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The conversion happens on your device.
