Why make QR codes here

Many QR sites create "dynamic" codes that send scans through their servers, track visitors, and stop working when a subscription ends. These codes are static: your text is stored in the code itself, so it never expires and nobody tracks the scans.

Size and printing tips

The PNG is at least 1,024 pixels wide, sharp enough for most prints; SVG scales to any size. Print a QR code at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inch), and for every 10 cm of scanning distance add about 1 cm of size: a code read from 1 metre away should be about 10 cm wide. Keep it dark on a light background.

How much fits in a QR code

Shorter text gives a simpler code that scans faster. A 30-character link makes a small, easy code; a QR code can hold up to about 2,300 characters here, but codes that dense are hard to scan from a phone. Error correction level M lets the code still scan with about 15% of it damaged or covered.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The link or text is inside the code itself, so it keeps working as long as the link does.

Can I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. Type WIFI:T:WPA;S:NetworkName;P:Password;; with your own network name and password, and phones will offer to join the network when they scan it.

Is what I type uploaded?

No. The code is generated in your browser, so even Wi-Fi passwords stay on your device.
