Convert HEIC photos to JPG
iPhones save photos as HEIC, which many Windows PCs, Android phones and upload forms can't open. Turn them into JPG files that open everywhere. The conversion runs on your device, so your photos are never uploaded.
Your photos are processed on this device and never uploaded. We don't see, store or log your files.
How it works
- Tap Choose files and pick one or more HEIC photos, or drop them onto the page.
- Tap Convert to JPG. The photos are converted on your device, one at a time.
- Download each JPG, all of them as a ZIP, or tap Share to save them to Photos or Files.
Why convert HEIC here
Most HEIC converters upload your photos to a server first. Here your own browser does the work, so private photos stay on your device. There is no account, no watermark and no daily limit.
What you get
Each photo becomes a full-size JPG at quality 90, which looks the same as the original at normal viewing and print sizes. The rotation saved in the photo is applied, so portraits stay upright. JPEG compresses less efficiently than HEIC, so the JPG is larger than the HEIC, often around twice the size. Live Photos and bursts give their main still image.
You can convert up to 20 photos at a time on a phone, 50 on a tablet and 100 on a computer. Phones handle photos up to 50 megapixels, which covers the 48-megapixel main camera of recent iPhones (8064 × 6048).
Stop your iPhone saving HEIC
To get JPG from the camera from now on, open Settings → Camera → Formats on the iPhone and choose Most Compatible; photos then take more space on the phone. iOS often converts photos to JPG by itself when you attach them to an email or upload them in Safari, so HEIC files mostly turn up after they were copied to a PC, an Android phone or a cloud drive unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
Will the photos lose quality?
Hardly. A JPG at quality 90 looks the same as the HEIC at normal sizes. Every JPG is made directly from the original HEIC, never from another copy.
Can I convert HEIC to JPG on Windows or Android?
Yes. Open this page in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Samsung Internet, choose the HEIC files and convert them. Nothing needs to be installed.
Are the date and location kept?
No. The JPG keeps the picture and its rotation, but not the camera details, date or location stored in the HEIC. That makes it safer to share.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device.
