Calculate GST for India

Add GST to a price or find the GST inside an inclusive price, at the rates in force since GST 2.0 took effect on 22 September 2025, with the CGST and SGST split for sales within a state or IGST between states.

Calculations run on this device. We don't see, store or log the numbers you enter.

How it works

  1. Choose Add GST or Remove GST.
  2. Enter the amount in rupees.
  3. Choose the GST rate and whether the sale is within a state or between states.

Why use this calculator

It applies the current slabs, splits the tax the way an invoice shows it, and removes GST correctly from inclusive prices. Nothing you type leaves your device.

GST rates after GST 2.0

Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services are taxed at 5% or 18%, a short list of luxury and sin goods at 40%, and gold and silver at 3%; some essentials are exempt (0%). Example: ₹1,000 at 18% within a state is ₹90 CGST + ₹90 SGST = ₹180 GST, ₹1,180 in total; between states it is ₹180 IGST. To remove GST from ₹11,800 at 18%, divide by 1.18: ₹10,000 plus ₹1,800 GST.

Which rate applies to my item?

The rate depends on the HSN or SAC code of the goods or service. Check the CBIC rate schedule or ask your accountant; this calculator only does the arithmetic.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?

For a sale within one state, GST is split equally between the central (CGST) and state (SGST) governments. For a sale between states, the whole amount is IGST.

Are the 12% and 28% slabs gone?

Yes, for almost all items since 22 September 2025: most moved to 5% or 18%, and some to 40%.

Does it work for Pakistan's GST?

Pakistan's general sales tax isn't split into CGST and SGST; use the VAT calculator with the Pakistan preset (18%).

Are my numbers stored?

No. Everything is calculated on your device.
