Calculate your semester GPA and CGPA

Pick your grading scale, enter each course's grade and credit hours, and see your semester GPA. Add your previous CGPA and credit hours to see the new cumulative GPA.

Calculations run on this device. We don't see, store or log the numbers you enter.

How it works

  1. Choose your scale: 5-point (King Saud University), Pakistan HEC 4.0, US 4.0, or type grade points directly.
  2. For each course, choose the grade and enter its credit hours; add more courses as needed.
  3. Optionally enter your previous CGPA and the credit hours it covers.
  4. Read your semester GPA and new cumulative GPA.

How GPA is calculated

Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credit hours, the results are added, and the sum is divided by the total credit hours. On the King Saud University scale, A+ (5), B+ (4.5) and C (3) in courses of 3, 3 and 2 hours give (15 + 13.5 + 6) ÷ 8 = 4.31. The cumulative GPA works the same way over all semesters: a previous 3.20 over 60 hours plus a 3.56 semester of 8 hours gives about 3.24.

The scales

On the 5-point scale used by King Saud University and many Saudi universities, A+ is 5.00, A 4.75, B+ 4.50, B 4.00 and F still counts as 1.00. Pakistan's HEC uses a 4.00 scale where each grade covers a range of points (A- from 3.34 to 3.66, for example); the calculator uses the top of each range, so enter exact points if your transcript shows them. The US-style 4.0 scale gives A 4.0, B 3.0, C 2.0.

Check your university's rules

Universities decide how repeated courses, pass/fail courses and withdrawals count. HEC, for example, counts only the better grade of a repeated course. If your transcript shows a different GPA, your university's own calculation is the official one.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between GPA and CGPA?

GPA is for one semester; CGPA (cumulative) averages all your semesters together, weighted by credit hours.

My university uses different grade points. What should I do?

Choose "Type grade points" (4 or 5-point) and enter the points from your transcript for each course.

How do I convert my CGPA to a percentage?

Use the CGPA to Percentage converter, which follows the official HEC table for Pakistan and shows common formulas for other systems.

Is my data stored?

No. Your grades stay on your device and are not sent anywhere.
