Remove a password from your PDF

Enter the password once and save a copy of your PDF that opens without it. PDFs that open freely but block printing or copying are unlocked without a password.

How it works

Why unlock PDFs here

Bank statements, payslips and ID scans often arrive password-protected. Here the file is decrypted by your own browser, so neither the document nor its password is ever sent anywhere.

What this tool can and can't do

If a PDF asks for a password when you open it, you need that password; this tool does not guess or crack passwords. If a PDF opens without one but blocks printing, copying or editing (a permissions password), those limits are removed. Documents protected with AES-256 or 128-bit RC4, used by most PDF apps, are supported.

Use it responsibly

Only unlock documents you own or have permission to change. Removing protection does not change who may legally use the content.

Frequently asked questions

I forgot the password. Can you recover it?

No. The password is needed to open the file, and this tool never tries to guess it. Ask whoever sent the file.

Will the unlocked PDF look the same?

Yes. Only the encryption is removed; pages, text and images are unchanged.

Is my password stored?

No. It is used once on your device to open the file and then discarded.
