Remove hidden metadata from a PDF

A PDF carries details you don't see on the page: the author's name, the original document title, the app that made it, and when it was created and edited. Remove them before sending a CV, a report or a shared document.

Your PDF is processed on this device and never uploaded. We don't see, store or log your files.

How it works

  1. Tap Choose file and pick your PDF.
  2. Tap Remove metadata.
  3. Read which details were found and removed.
  4. Download or share the clean PDF.

Why remove metadata here

Uploading a file to a website to remove private details defeats the purpose. Here the PDF never leaves your device. The pages, text and images are copied unchanged. Free, no sign-up.

What a PDF can reveal

A CV exported from Word often carries the computer's account name as Author and the title of the template it started from. The Creator and Producer fields name the apps used, such as Microsoft Word 2019 or a scanner app, and the creation and modified dates can be exact to the second. The tool removes the document information dictionary (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer, both dates) and the XMP metadata block that repeats them, then tells you what it found.

What stays in the file

Everything visible stays: text, images, links, comments and form fields. Photos inside the PDF can carry their own camera data (EXIF), which this tool doesn't change. To remove that too, turn the PDF into images with PDF to JPG, or start from photos without location data.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look different?

No. Only hidden document details are removed; the pages are copied as they are.

Can I see the metadata before removing it?

The result lists which fields were in the file, such as author, producer and creation date.

Does it remove comments and tracked changes?

No. Comments and annotations are visible content, so they stay. Delete them in your PDF app first.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device.
