Split a large PDF into smaller files

Email and upload forms reject files over a size limit. Split a large PDF into parts that each fit, with the pages kept in order. Your file never leaves your device.

Your PDF is processed on this device and never uploaded. We don't see, store or log your files.

How it works

  1. Tap Choose file and pick your PDF.
  2. Choose the largest size each part may be.
  3. Tap Split by size.
  4. Download each part, all of them as a ZIP, or tap Share.

Why split here

Large PDFs are often scans of contracts, statements or medical records. Here the splitting happens in your browser, so they're never uploaded. There is no account and no watermark.

Common size limits

Gmail and Yahoo Mail accept attachments up to 25 MB, Outlook.com up to 20 MB, and many upload forms 5 or 10 MB. Choose the limit of the place you're sending to, or type your own in MB. Each part holds as many pages as fit under it, so you get as few parts as possible.

When one page is too big

A single page over the limit, such as a high-resolution scan, is saved as its own part, and the result names it. Make it smaller with Compress PDF, then split again.

Splitting or compressing?

Compressing keeps one file but can lower image quality; splitting keeps every page exactly as it is. If the recipient needs one file, try Compress PDF first.

Frequently asked questions

Are pages changed or reordered?

No. Each part holds consecutive pages copied unchanged, so part 1 then part 2 reads like the original.

How are the parts named?

By their pages, for example report-page-1-14.pdf and report-page-15-30.pdf.

Can parts be slightly smaller than the limit?

Yes. Pages can't be cut, so each part ends at the last page that still fits.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device.
