100 KB is a common limit on visa, job and university portals, and a good size for email. Your photos come back as JPGs under 100 KB, as sharp as that size allows.

What fits in 100 KB
About 1024 × 768 pixels fit in 100 KB at good quality, enough for a full-screen view on a phone and for most document photos. A typical 3 MB phone photo is shrunk to about that size; a scanned page of text often fits at a larger size because plain white paper compresses well.
Documents and scans
For an ID card or certificate, crop away the table or desk around it first. If the text looks soft at 100 KB, try a larger limit if the form allows it, or send the pages as a PDF with Compress PDF instead.
Frequently asked questions
Will the text on a scanned document stay readable?
Usually, for a single page. Crop tightly first so the 100 KB is spent on the document, not the background. Very dense pages may need a larger limit.
Does it work with iPhone photos?
Yes. When you choose a photo from the Photos library, the iPhone normally hands it over as a JPG. If a HEIC file is refused, set Settings › Camera › Formats to Most Compatible.
Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
Sites count it both ways. We aim for 1,000 bytes per KB, so a 50 KB file here is at most 50,000 bytes and also passes a form that counts 1,024 (51,200 bytes).
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser on your own device.
